Faced with the industry challenge of ‘excess at the low end and shortage at the high end,’ domestic tinplate manufacturers are actively trying to break the deadlock through technological innovation. According to LuNet, the Yulan New Materials Industrial Park in Rizhao, Shandong, has put into operation China’s first acid-rolled combined six-stand mill with completely independent intellectual property rights, capable of rolling at speeds of up to 1,500 meters per minute, reducing energy consumption by more than 30%, and able to roll products as thin as 0.12 millimeters.

The company stated that it will continue to deeply cultivate the international high-end food-grade tinplate market through independently developed equipment and customized production models, and leverage its coastal port location to expand overseas market channels. This marks that China’s tinplate industry is moving from traditional ‘manufacturing’ to high-quality, high value-added ‘intelligent manufacturing.’
